Open-network system interface is compatible with most LAN environments. Object linking and embedding (OLE) allows combining of information from multiple applications. Distributed component object module (DCOM) integrates client and server application across multiple computers. Windows NT has been used successfully by A.V.C. Specialists, Inc. to interface with DCS systems without the costly software usually associated with this type of interface.
