Precipitator Control Systems
Recognizing the need for better control systems throughout the industry, A.V.C. Specialists, Inc. started designing and manufacturing analog automatic voltage control systems in 1977. Some of those early controls are still in operation on precipitators. A digital automatic rapper control which was then superseded by a microprocessor rapper control soon followed.

The appetite for more features and communication capability drove the development of the POWERCON™ automatic voltage control and the RAPPERCON™ rapper control. At the same time our reputation for building reliable, rugged equipment was maintained.

These controls can operate independently or can be managed by the A.V.C. Specialists, Inc. PRECIPITATOR SUPERVISORY SYSTEM™ (PSS) for operating efficiency, data collection and reporting. Through open Modbus communication protocol, operators can also integrate the precipitator controls into their plant’s distribution control system.
